    Give Till It Hurts

The definition of true charity to me is “giving till it hurts.” It’s finding a way to give your time and energy to help improve humanity in some way, even when you’re already working a full time job. It’s taking the initiative to do something about an obstacle our society faces, instead of just complaining about it. It’s finding a way to give money to a cause you care about, even when your bank account begs you not to.

One of the best things I’ve experienced from living a healthy lifestyle is the amazing self-realization that occurs through a healthy mind body connection. There is a quote by Tony Robbins that I love. He says, “The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and the more you will use your talent to produce outstanding results." While this quote definitely speaks to our ability to be successful in life, I think it also pertains to producing outstanding results for the greater good of humanity. The fact of the matter is that when you have more, you can give more.

Each of us has the ability to connect with a cause we care about. Recently, I was given the proud honor of being featured in LIVESTRONG Quarterly as the volunteer “Face of LIVESTRONG.” I am only one person among millions who are doing their part, but to be featured for a cause that I am so deeply passionate about…I don’t think there are words to describe how much it means to me. If you’ve been affected by cancer, then I’d love for you to consider getting involved with LIVESTRONG. There are plenty of opportunities across the entire globe! If not LIVESTRONG, then find a non-profit that speaks to you on a deeper level and make it a priority to give back in whatever ways you can.

Losing people I’d loved to cancer is a fact of my life. That is something I cannot change. What I can do is help others fight cancer today. No doubt, changing how you look and improving your level of health will also transform your ATTITUDE, and having an attitude of gratitude is one of the most powerful ways to transform your life and your entire future. THAT is the sense of potential I want to help others discover.
