    Live Life to Its Fittest

I'm often asked what keeps me motivated, and after a recent interview with Austin Fit magazine, I found myself thinking about how truly important the source of that motivation is. You may have heard me say before, that in order to live a long healthy life, you need to find a deeper reason for making the right choices each day. Yes, we all want to look good in a bikini or board shorts, but is that desire alone going to be a strong enough motivator in the long haul? For some, the pay-off of having a svelt physique is enough motivation in and of itself. However, for most, it's not. It's the reason why so many people tend to step up their game in the Spring, on the ultimate quest for a beach ready body, only to find themselves making a New Year's Resolution again come January.

In order to make lasting change in your health, find a deeper reason. For me, it's living life to it's fullest....or living life to it's fittest if you will. I really believe the two go hand in hand and that you can't have one without the other. Now, I'm not talking about being the fittest person on your block, or the fittest person in your gym, or wearing a certain size. This is not about comparing yourself to others. I'm talking about being YOUR FITTEST.

I see so many people in this world missing out on opportunities in life because they have issues with confidence or aren't willing to try new things. Others are simply unable to perform certain activities because of their weight or health issues. I don't know about you, but I'm not going to let something that is largely within my own personal control hold me back from experiencing all that life has to offer. It's normal to have some peaks and valleys in your level of commitment at the gym or to have some minor fluctuations in your weight, but keep the bigger picture forefront in your mind. Check out this recent article of Austin Fit and think long and hard about what makes you want to live life to your fittest? As Tony Robbins once said, "If your WHY doesn't make you CRY it's not strong enough."
