    Lower Body Superset Workout

One of the most frequent questions I'm asked is, "What type of strength training workouts do you do?" I'm so glad you asked! There are all types of fancy split routines out there, and I do believe I've probably tried them all. It's important to change up your routine and try new things to stay interested and keep muscles guessing. However, in my opinion, it's equally as important to keep things as simple as humanly possible.

One of my favorite ways to ensure that I'm hitting all major muscle groups each week is to alternate between Upper Body Strength Training and Lower Body Strength Training on separate alternating days. Each week, you should train every major muscle group in your body (back, shoulders, chest, biceps, triceps, quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, and abs) with some form of resistance training that works those muscles.

Guess what? Even if you think your problem area is your legs, you still need to do exercises that work the arms. Why? Because the much sought after "toning up" that 99% of people want to achieve is only accomplished through the improvement of the overall body composition; The best way to get a sculpted physique is to work ALL the major muscle groups instead of just focusing on your problem areas. It will increase overall lean body mass and decrease overall percentage of body fat. You'll be able to burn calories more effectively, even while you sleep, because of it. You'll also prevent muscle imbalances and injury, because you'll be working to strengthen the entire body.

A superset is performed when 2 or more exercises are done back-to-back with no rest in between. Check out my most recent Upper Body workout to see how to design your own Lower Body Superset Workout with the equipment you have available to you. Supersets are a great way to work the muscles to the point of absolute fatique, and thus get in an extremely effective workout quickly, all while keeping your heart rate elevated and up the anty on fat burning potential. This one left my legs shaking and sore the next day in all the right places!
